Ecotourism
No sound ..., only the wind, birds and rivers. Enjoying nature to the fullest. In the heart of Uruguay there is a lot of unspoiled area, seemingly untouched by man. Ecotourism is not fully developed yet in Uruguay. Some possibilities have been listed here.
La Aurora, Rivera
Located on the border with Brasil in the Cuchilla de Heado, a lot of ecotourism and adventure activities are offered. The hilly surroundings give possibilities for hiking, mountain biking, climbing, horseback riding, parapente and 4x4, with magnificant views to encounter and feel nature all around.
El Centinela, Sierra de las Animas, Maldonado
Located in the Sierra de las Animas, a beautiful hilly area, several activities are offered to fully enjoy the natural environment. Among those activities are guided horseback riding, guided hikes, all kinds of farm animals (ideal for kids). Also an exhibition of the real farm life can be found here. All can be discussed arond the evening campfire.
