Spas

In the North-West of Uruguay, near the cities of Paysandú and Salto you find several Spas. All beautifully located in the hilly surroundings. With the high water temperatures a good place to stay for a winter holiday trip. One Spa is located in the South-East of Uruguay, the Argentino Hotel in Piriápolis.

According to experts, these hot spring waters, with a temperature of over 30 °C, are the best for therapeutical purposes. Small forests, the wooden bridge over the Guayabos Grande stream and a good service availability make the place real cozy. Children's game facilities, paddle-tennis courts, sightseeing and, try your luck fishing in the nearby stream are all available for recreation.

Amidst a beautiful, exuberant vegetal landscape with spectacular water gardens through which the water whispers among stones and under picturesque bridges, it becomes a truly enchanting Eden. The pools have an average temperature of 39 °C. The complex has a children's playground, and in the nearby river you can take a boat trip and try fishing.

The natural landscape by the Río Daymán, the flowered gardens and shady groves around the complex make it possible to fully enjoy the 10 pools. Extremely pure, radioactive and mineralized, ideal for crenotherapy, the water springs from out of the rock at a temperature of 42 °C. It seems paradise has been waiting.

Ideal for relaxation among the natural environment, smooth and rolling prairies in which the pools are found. The water, 38 ºC, has curative and sedative properties due to its high content of minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium and fluorine. There are special pools for children, children games' facilities, paddle-tennis, volleyball and soccer courts, and lots more.

Built on the shore of the Salto Grande Lake, this spa is beautifully located. The warm waters, 45 °C at the source, are qualified rich in sodium bicarbonates, which makes it cure pains, prevent illnesses and improve you skin and help you relax. Drinking this water is especially recommended, for it helps the digestion. Things to do are; a sulky ride, bicycle or horse ride around the park, play tennis, paddle-tennis, soccer and volleyball by day or at night and lots more.

For whoever wants thermal waters, but would also like to stay at an old "estancia" or cattle ranch, ride on horseback, taste typical Uruguayan country food. The pools (37 & 40 °C) are amidst a scenery where the typical activities of the "estancia", mingle with the native fauna in all its splendour. A paradisiacal place that links cattle breeding, nature and the goodness of its thermal waters.
